Development of professional competencies through Emotional Intelligence in high school students at Colegio Ciudad Real

Resumen

Este artículo es producto del análisis exhaustivo acerca de cómo incide la aplicación de la teoría de la IE en el desarrollo de las competencias profesionales en estudiantes de secundaria frente a las exigencias del mercado laboral como objetivo, ya que un número relevante de aportes científicos refieren que estudiantes preuniversitarios, de carácter predominante, presentan deficiencias significativas en sus competencias profesionales enmarcadas por sus habilidades emocionales y de relaciones interpersonales. Direccionado por el paradigma de investigación cognitivo y el diseño de alcance de estudio correlacional, con un enfoque mixto, se elaboró y aplicó un cuestionario a un total de 73 estudiantes de secundaria del COCIRE en Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, bajo un consentimiento informado de confidencialidad y anonimato, posterior a la impartición de sesiones de formación e información como programa por 30 minutos durante 10 días en el colegio. Estos cuestionarios de 38 y 40 preguntas fueron validados por expertos en el campo educativo, pruebas piloto, y medición de fiabilidad por el coeficiente del alfa de Cronbach, para el adecuado procesamiento de datos cuantitativos, y una pregunta abierta a los estudiantes de 5to y 6to de secundaria con datos cualitativos, procesados mediante las inferencias de análisis estadísticos y descriptivos. Los resultados del estudio someten que los estudiantes que desarrollan sus competencias profesionales a través de la teoría de la IE presentan un impacto positivo frente a las habilidades y aptitudes que se exigen en el campo laboral actual, además de manejar su bienestar emocional, mejorar considerablemente sus relaciones interpersonales.
